Pak Choy and Bok Choy

Pak Choy and Bok Choy

Delicious Asian Green Vegetables. Great in Stirfrys or as a side dish with beef, lamb or fish.

My Pak or Bok Choy (brocoli is great in this too)

2 cloves garlic crushed, 1 tsp of crushed ginger, Sesame oil, Peanut oil, Oyster sauce, Hoisin sauce, sesame seeds,  1/2 chilli finely sliced  

Pull the leaves apart and slice the bok or pak choy length ways and in half. Smaller pieces makes it easier to serve. Put in a big bowl of cold water and wash thoroughly. (Sand does get caught around the base of these vegetables so washing is important) Dry off.

In a medium heat wok, add a tblsp Sesame oil, a tblsp of Peanut oil, the garlic, finely sliced chilli and ginger. Stir for 30 seconds. Add the greens, 2 tblsp of hoisin sauce, 2 tblsp oyster sauce and continue stirring for a few minutes. A spatula is better than a spoon. Keep the Wok on medium heat and keep turning over. Sprinkle some sesame seeds in. This will need to cook for about 10 minutes until the vegetables are limp and cooked through. Mix a little more Sesame Oil through when you are serving.
