I quit sugar four years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. It was making me fat, sick, lethargic... miserable. It was hard, but I got there. The reward has been incredible. For me and my family.

Not having enough TIME to exercise. Not having enough TIME to cook a wholesome healthy meal. Essentially, not having enough time for yourself. Having a child, I now know that having TIME is made far more difficult. But if you can plan your days ahead of time, you can get so much more out of them.

Every weekend I write a list of eight meals, snacks, lunch options and a cake I am going to make the following week. I go through my pantry and write a list. I then go and do my grocery shop, sticking to my list and making sure I have everything. This in itself saves me time because I will not need to do any further grocery shopping during the week (apart from fresh bread and milk)! <<<<This is also great for making sure you don't buy crap during the week>>>> If you want to go further, you can list what you are going to eat each day of that week... but I prefer to choose that morning.

Every day I ask myself **What is going to help me achieve happiness and good health for me and my family today?

I know that if I take some time to exercise and have healthy food around me, I am going to have a pretty great day. Keeping fit and eating well releases endorphins, makes me feel good about myself, challenges me and makes me strong. Eating nourishing food keeps my mind and body happy and motivated.
