I quit sugar four years ago when I was pregnant with my first son. It was making me fat, sick, lethargic... miserable. It was hard, but I got there. The reward has been incredible. For me and my family.

This is me and our beautiful American Staffy, George. He came with me for a run today.

After spending Saturday in bed with a bout of gastro, I thought I would tackle a run. It was a beautiful day here in Perth so I got the leash and we set off. We ended up going 14km. Didn't plan to - I just felt I could keep going so I did.

First 3km he carried me - last 11km - I carried him! It was a mental exercise to continue and make it 14km and George helped (when he could keep up!!). So did a little music and the sunshine too.

So much of running is mental. Our bodies are amazing. If you believe you can go that little bit further.. You really can.
