Our pet sheep
The weeds have been shocking for us this Winter and because we have decided to not use any chemicals on our property, it has meant we cannot spray them all to kingdom come.
So.... to help alleviate the jungle we have going on, we traveled to Gidgegannup (North of Perth) on Saturday to collect these girls. These free range, organic grass and weed mowers have plenty of food on our property to get through... we could actually have another 10 and there would still be more grass than they could eat :)
Even more wonderful is that we know that two of the girls are pregnant. So around the beginning of October, we will have some lambs to watch and enjoy. Like most children, Albert is fascinated by animals and who wouldn't love a few lambs springing around the garden in Spring. So I am especially excited for him.
I love animals of any kind but have to say I particularly love sheep. They remind me of time spent at my husbands family property in Tasmania and the peace and tranquility I always feel when I am there. We don't have neighbours close by but with all the animals singing, bleating, barking and crowing how could we ever feel lonely here on our little homestead.
**They are the Wiltipoll breed of sheep. After some research we found that this breed are very low maintenance. They self shed their wool so no shearers are needed and they are docile creatures, which is extremely important for us with a little boy on the run.
