Enjoying the splendour that is Christmas... family, food and celebrations.. Our sheep had their very own celebration. A great big party that lasted 9 days and made their bellies so full they could barely walk. In fact they ate so well they needed a few days to recover!
Bahahaha (this is not really a laugh, more of a soft whimper with a full body shudder)
So I am pleased to see some vegetables survived the "attack of the hungry sheep"!!!
I guess the beetroot was safely underground (sheep don't dig) and the parsley/rosemary/basil/thyme .......... well they probably didn't want to tempt fate by seasoning themselves.
Who ever said sheep are stupid, I do not agree. Our sheepy's are pretty intelligent beings. Maybe it's their wonderful diet? :) Our girls (and one boy) decided to escape their side of our property over the Christmas break. "because the grass was greener" on the other side.
Everything was greener - the vegetable patch.. the roses... the hibiscus.. and well .. lets be honest.. Everything that was green. They ate.
At least they left the tops of our plants alone. (they couldn't reach)
Positive thinking and a bucket load of Seasol and our garden will be green and lush again..
They did do a great job at fertilising :)
